Kristy Taylor, a Fathom Realty agent in Texas, was recently named REALTOR® of the Year for 2023 by the Greater Denton/Wise County Board of REALTORS®.

Taylor became an agent in 2018, but she’s hardly new to real estate. She’s a third-generation real estate agent. Before obtaining her real estate license, Taylor worked in the mortgage business from the age of 18.

“I have been in real estate for the last 25 years,” she said. “Wow, how time flies!”

Taylor received the award at the 2023 Installation and Awards Ceremony, which was held in January in Denton. She became a member of the group in 2013 as an affiliate and then as a REALTOR® in 2018.

During that time, she has served on many committees and taken on leadership roles. She has served as Chairman of Member Relations and most recently as a member of the Board of Directors, a position she has held for three years. She is currently the elected Secretary/Treasurer.

In 2021, she was honored as the recipient of the President’s Award by the group.

For new agents, Taylor highly recommends becoming an active part of their local Board of REALTORS® “to keep you up to date with all things real estate.” She also advises new agents to find a mentor. “When you don’t know something, say so. Then, ask your broker or REALTORS® Association.”

Taylor said she joined Fathom at the urging of fellow realty board member Wilson Roberts, whom she calls her mentor. “The move just made sense,” she said. 

A Fathom career highlight, she said, has been all the contacts she has made. “Some are great peers, but others have truly become my best friends and are part of my forever real estate family.”

Taylor and her husband, Chad, have been married since 2009 and have two daughters, Sam, 11, and Maddie, 7. As a family, they are outdoor enthusiasts. “We love traveling in our RV, boating on Lake Lewisville and going to the beach,” Taylor said.
