A Fathom Realty agent from the Clearfield, Utah office organized a day of fun, food and family for dogs and the people who love them on May 21st.

Canine Chaos Coordinator Heather Smith helped her community, Layton, Utah celebrate families and dogs while supporting a local dog rescue and training organization. “I love dogs and helping with rescue and training,” Heather said, “but this community event was meant to bring people together with no agenda other than joy. People of all ages, races, religions, economic statuses and even political affiliations light up and open up when you ask about their dogs. They love showing pictures and treasure your concern when something has happened to their pet.”
The event featured a dog obstacle course with 10 obstacles, agility demonstrations, dog adoptions, games, raffle prizes and even a class on aromatherapy for dogs. More than 50 vendors participated in the event, including food trucks, veterinarians and dog gear vendors.
Proceeds were donated to Service Paws of Utah, which trains dogs and their humans to assist with psychiatric, seizure and diabetes responses as well as medical alerts. The group also trains veterans’ service dogs.
“Heather put so much work into this event,” said Heather McKean Smith, a Fathom agent who volunteered with the event. “I don’t know who enjoyed it more — the dogs or the doggy owners!”
