In Chicagoland’s bustling real estate market, Brady Wright stands out as more than just an agent; he’s a testament to the power of relationships, passion, and perseverance. Balancing a full-time role with the faith-based nonprofit Chicagoland Young Life and his budding real estate career with Fathom Realty, Brady’s story is one of dedication, heartfelt connections, and a relentless drive to serve his community.

A Career Rooted in Purpose

Brady’s journey into real estate began with a dream—a vision shared with his wife as they prepared for the arrival of their third child in late 2023. The couple envisioned a season where she could stay home with their growing family. For Brady, this dream needed to align with his gifts, passions, and ongoing 17-year commitment to Young Life, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young people and fostering their faith.

Inspired by Brian Page’s book Don’t Start a Side Hustle, Do This Instead, Brady sought a career that could maximize his time investment without sacrificing the relational focus he values. Real estate emerged as the perfect fit. “I’ve been created to connect with people and find ways to serve them,” Brady shares. “Helping people navigate the often stressful process of buying or selling a home felt like a natural extension of who I am.”

Finding a Home at Fathom Realty

In July 2024, Brady officially joined Fathom Realty, drawn by the agency’s values and people. “Most of the decisions I make are based on my relationships and values,” he explains. Introduced to Fathom by his friend Don Hampton, Brady quickly connected with the managing broker, Beth Lindner. Their shared vision for supportive mentorship and alignment with Fathom’s servant-leadership ethos made the decision easy.

“When I read the quote, ‘Whoever wants to be great must become a servant,’ on Fathom’s website, I knew I had found the right place,” Brady recalls. “The culture at Fathom felt like a perfect match for me.”

Balancing Two Careers with Grace

Juggling two careers and three young children may sound daunting, but Brady approaches the challenge with humor and strategy. “What? Does adding a baby and a second career at the same time sound like a lot? Ha! I’m joking. It certainly is a lot to manage,” he laughs.

With flexible schedules in both roles, Brady prioritizes transparency and time management. “I’m upfront with my clients about my full-time role with Young Life,” he says. “It’s important to set boundaries and not overextend myself so I can serve my clients well.”

Brady credits his mentors, Don and Beth, for helping him focus on “income-producing activities” and ensuring he spends his time wisely. Whether training, networking, or staying informed about the local market, Brady keeps his finger on the pulse of real estate in his community.

A Heart for Young Life

Brady’s 17-year journey with Young Life is at the core of who he is. Starting as a volunteer at 18, he joined the organization full-time four years later and hasn’t looked back. Today, he supervises staff in Chicago’s western suburbs, trains volunteer leaders, and creates meaningful experiences for young people.

“Young Life is all about relationships, fun, and faith,” Brady explains. “Some of my favorite memories are from our camps, where we pack the weeks with adventure, humor, and deep connections.”

Brady’s work with Young Life reflects his natural ability to build trust and foster growth, which he seamlessly applies to his real estate practice.

Lessons for New Agents

While Brady’s real estate career is just beginning, his advice for others starting out is insightful and relatable:

  • Play the Long Game: “I don’t expect my career to take off in six months. Success comes from doing the right things day after day.”
  • Focus on Relationships: “Find ways to connect with and serve people. Business will follow.”
  • Lean Into Mentorship: “Don and Beth have been invaluable to me. Learn as much as you can from those who’ve walked this path before you.”

Beyond Work

When he’s not mentoring young people or guiding clients through real estate transactions, Brady’s time is devoted to his family and his favorite hobby: basketball. Life is full with three young children (ages five, three, and five months), but Brady wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I’m fortunate that I’m genuinely passionate about both careers,” he reflects. “Investing my time in what I love is a joy.”

An Inspiration for Others

Brady’s story reminds us that pursuing multiple passions is both possible and deeply rewarding. His ability to balance a thriving nonprofit career, a growing real estate business, and a bustling family life inspires agents everywhere.

Brady’s journey offers a roadmap for those just starting in real estate or navigating dual careers: stay focused on your values, build meaningful relationships, and don’t be afraid to lean on others for guidance. As Brady grows his career with Fathom Realty, his impact on the Chicagoland community as a mentor and agent will leave a lasting legacy.
