When the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and the US Department of Veteran’s Affairs needed an expert to educate agents on the VA Home Loan Guaranty Program, they called upon Fathom Realty’s Mark Worrilow. Besides his duties as the District Director for the Prince William-Fairfax-Warrenton, Virginia area, Mark is a fully certified Military Relocation Professional (MRP) and is an instructor for NAR’s MRP certification program.

On March 17, 2022, NAR released a two-part educational video series on the VA Home Loan Guaranty Program, “designed to help REALTORS® better serve veterans and active duty homebuyers achieving homeownership with VA loans.” In part two, Reducing Barriers for VA Borrowers, Mark demystifies the VA loan program and addresses the challenges faced by homebuyers, sellers, and REALTORS®.

Mark began his career as an instructor while serving in the Navy, teaching courses in leadership and warfare subjects. He carried his teaching methods out of the military and soon became a USSF certified referee instructor. A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Mark retired in 1997 and immediately commenced a second career in real estate. As a REALTOR® Mark holds his ABR, SFR, and MRP designations and teaches pre-licensing classes and other professional development classes as well as being a certified Fair Housing, REALTOR® Code of Ethics, and RSA instructor. Mark served as the Education Committee Chair from 2004 to 2010 and Instructor of the Year for 2010 at the Prince William Association.

“REALTORS® can obtain the Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification to better prepare them to work with U.S. service members, their families, and veterans. The program educates REALTORS® on how to help military homebuyers find the best housing solutions to meet their needs and take full advantage of available benefits,” states NAR.

Fathom Realty introduced its Veteran Division to build and nurture a community of those who have served our Nation and continue to serve their communities through real estate. We want to provide our Veterans with an opportunity to network and engage with each other and grow their businesses. Mark proudly serves as a Veteran Division Advisory Committee member to develop strategies and resources for our Veteran community.
