On November 20th, Fathom Realty agents in Salt Lake City joined together for a remarkable Fathom Serves project, leaving an indelible impact on their community. Led by District Director Don Zimmerman, this effort demonstrated the power of collective compassion and the difference we can make when we come together to support those in need.

A Mission of Warmth and Kindness

The event centered around creating Angel Blessing Bags, which included warm winter clothing, toiletries, and snacks, all donated by Fathom agents and volunteers. The team gathered to sort and organize these items before delivering them to Fill the Pot, a mission dedicated to serving the homeless population in downtown Salt Lake City.

But the giving didn’t stop there. In partnership with the University of Utah Football Team, over 400 hot meals were served in memory of Aaron Lowe, a promising wide receiver whose life was tragically cut short three years ago.

Aaron Lowe’s legacy, encapsulated in his mother’s foundation—the Keep’ ’em Smiling Aaron Lowe Foundation—has inspired countless acts of kindness. Fathom Agent Georgia Wilcox has built a close friendship with Aaron’s mother, adding a deeply personal connection to the event.

A Community United in Service

Don Zimmerman shared a touching moment when Georgia came to collect the items:

“When Georgia walked into the conference room where everything was stored, tears streamed down her face in gratitude for everyone’s efforts.”

This heartfelt response reflects the event’s impact—not just on the recipients but also on the volunteers who poured their time, energy, and love into making it happen.

The event also garnered attention from local media, with Alex Cabrero of KSL Channel 5 covering the story. Don Zimmerman was featured in the news footage, and Alex shared the inspiration and logistics behind this incredible project.

Remembering Aaron Lowe

The memory of Aaron Lowe was palpable throughout the day. Known for his unwavering ability to bring joy to others, Aaron’s legacy was honored with every meal served and every blessing bag distributed. Each year, the University of Utah commemorates Aaron during their senior night football game with a moment of silence for #22.

Through the efforts of Fathom Realty agents and their collaboration with the Keep ’em Smiling Aaron Lowe Foundation, this event continued Aaron’s mission of spreading happiness and making people smile, even in the face of adversity.

The Heart of Fathom Serves

In Don’s mind, the heart of Fathom Realty’s culture lies in the belief that “where much is given, much is required.” This Salt Lake City event exemplifies that ethos, as agents and volunteers selflessly came together to serve those in need.

Don summed up the day perfectly: “This was an event I will never forget. Thanks to everyone who gave their time and items and came together for a worthy cause. We are all blessed in so many ways, and this project will bless many less fortunate people than we are.”

Fathom Realty’s commitment to community service continues to inspire agents across the country. As this Salt Lake City event demonstrated, small acts of kindness can create ripples of positivity, transforming lives and communities.  Thank you to all who participated, donated, and supported this incredible day of service. Together, we are making a difference, one life at a time!
